Quite a tunaround

Major AI providers are finally fessing up: those genAI bots are not, in fact, a drop-in replacement for the human workforce.

The long and short of it is that those claims of genAI's massive job destruction were more hype than reality.

Plenty of companies learned this the hard way when they rushed into genAI projects and cut headcount before proving that the bots could do the job. They suffered losses, then had to quietly re-hire people. If you run the numbers, that makes for a huge net negative – a waste of time/money/effort, plus a damaged relationship with the workforce, and unwanted PR to boot.

You might think that the takeaway lesson is to avoid genAI altogether.

No. That's not the case.

The lesson is to ▶️ be strategic in your AI adoption. ◀️

That means searching for use cases, thoroughly testing them, and then making decisions.

Oh, and along with that, you'll want to ▶️ substantiate any claims made by AI providers. ◀️

Remember that their job is to make you excited about AI. Not to make you successful!
